Position available: Childcare worker Contract: Permanent Salary: £7.50 per hour Hours: 19 hours over 5 days(additionally required for overtime) The main purpose of this role is to work as part of a n effective team to provide a safe, secure and stimulating childcare service that promotes a social and personal development for children, through indoor and outdoor play experiences. Key duties and responsibilities: - to assist in the smooth running of the childcare service - to assist in creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone - to escort children from school - participate in the planning, evaluation and delivery of a weekly schedule of indoor and outdoor play activities through consultation with the children - deliver a variety of play, leisure and learning programmes and suitable activities for the children - assist in the provision and preparation of snacks during term time and during holidays - to participate in the operation of an agreed system for recording child development - to attend and contribute to meetings Participate in any training and qualification considered relevant to the position and for the benefit of the service - to assist in the development of a partnership between the service, the families and their children, and all working partners - to be aware of the aims and purposes of the Bellshill & Mossend YMCA, Childcare Service and to assist in their delivery - you will be required to carry out any other duties within the scope of the post as prescribed by the childcare manager or any other person acting on his/her behalf - to efficiently implement best practice policy and procedures Essential criteria: - qualified to SVQ level 3 minimum - hold membership of PVG scheme - experience of group work with children - experience of providing support and information relevant relevant to children - working knowledge of the governments 'Getting it Right for Every Child' agenda and its core principals Desirable criteria: - proven ability to effectively plan and deliver programmes and activities simultaneously - experience to effective partnership working - understanding of an informal education curriculum To apply for this position please apply in writing or by email to: Alan Cairns Childcare Manager Bellshill & Mossend YMCA childcare@ymcabellshill.co.uk Please feel free to give this post a thumbs up at the bottom 👍 or a share to spread the word!
