What is progress? Most people would say that progress is when you see the numbers of the scales drop or shaved a few cms off your circumference measurements. And they are right but that's not the only type of progression you can achieve. After years of eating the wrong foods, yo yo diets and drinking every weekend you would have engraved some habits that will take time to change. Typically the first two weeks of a healthy regime tends to be easiest. This is when people are super motivated and ready to go. They see an initial weight loss and they are feeling good. Then real life sets in. Your asked to social events, or life happens, or your hormones are flying about because it's TOTM and that's when it suddenly becomes harder because now you are forced to draw upon your willpower and make a decision. We either do what's easy, say "Sod it" and revert back to old habits with all intentions of starting fresh the next morning 😏 (we know how that goes). Or we stay strong, you change your behaviour for that moment and keep on track heading towards your goals. Often the ladies I coach are so cross and frustrated that they haven't seen a drop on the scales ... I get it ... frankly it can be depressing if you've put in hard work, or even if you have had a slip up, those damn scales will make you feel guilty and put you on a downer. However, I remind my ladies of all the amazing work they did over the week. The number of times they resisted that cake in the office, the fact that they worked out X amount of times, how much their strength and fitness has improved. It's very easy to fixate on the numbers on the scale and lose the bigger picture. These changes in behaviour, the actions you take towards yours goals are in fact progress. So make sure you give yourself credit and recognise your wins when they happen. So why not try this. Have a little notebook and write down you wins, achievements as your go or at the end of the day. No matter how small they may seem so you can remind yourself of them when you come up against negative feelings. V X

It's a lifestyle not a diet. Long term sustainable results come from consistency. Being consistent means you will create new healthier habits that come second nature and you enjoy the process. Super Mum Claire has been coming to my boot camps for about 3 years now, around a year ago she got into lifting and she has never looked back. She enjoys exercise, she loves eating real food that tastes amazing, she has embraced a healthier lifestyle and looks fantastic for it. Yes she still eats chocolate, goes out for meals and occasionally drinks wine but there is now a balance that enables her to still have a life whilst striving for her better body goals.
