A beautiful rural destination pub restaurant in Buckinghamshire (near Bicester Village), the Akeman Inn serves quality food and drink throughout the day. Having changed our name in November 2014, we would like to invite you to the new Akeman Inn. Enjoy high quality food, drinks and atmosphere in our immaculately refurbished building. Whether you want to relax with our speciality coffee in front of the fire or would like to dine with us and enjoy a bottle of Malbec and a juicy steak- the choice is yours! Meet Towser, named in the Guinness Book of World Records as “The Most Prolific Mouser of All-Time”, Towser lived in the Glenturret Distillery for 23 years, during which time she made a record 28,899 kills (an average of 3 mice a day). Towser was still terrorising rodents until her death just before her 24th birthday in 1987. Allegedly a dram of whisky was spiked in her milk every evening in order to increase her mousing prowess.
