Had a very interesting and informative day yesterday at Amersham Studios during a course on portrait photography, it was hands on and all about gaining confidence and interacting with the subject, and utilising various lighting techniques. The course was delivered with expert knowledge, no pressure, in ideal surroundings, and we all had the chance to try our stuff and mix together using ourselves as subjects. Here are a few of my efforts.

I require newborn models for my portfolio, the session will be at mine (Aylesbury) and will take around 3 hours per session depending on the baby which should be no more than 10 days old. I need two on the same day one in the morning one in the afternoon. Parent(s) obviously must attend and be with me all the time. You will each receive a framed print of your choice and three edited images on disc. In the photo you can see the basic set up for posing the baby, which consists of a circular frame supported on three adjustable stands with a jersey fabric cloth stretched over it and secured with clamps. Underneath there is a bean bag with blankets to make sure the baby is fully supported at all times, for the various poses further blankets or towels etc will be placed under the frame to support and hold the baby for the pose. You can see on the frame samples of the wraps that I use to partly cover the baby, you can also bring your own props if you wish. The jersey cloth comes in other colours you can see them on the floor in front of the frame, and the cream blanket on the floor is pure Iceladic wool and can also be used for posing the baby on. The other two photos are typical examples of the finished product.
