Fishing Report 22nd April 2016 Trout Lake An interesting week with mixed bags. Over last weekend fish were rising everywhere but were proving elusive, despite fly several changes. The best area is the Dam with fish often moving close in taking buzzers. Carp Lake Last weekend a seasons best came out at 22 lb common caught on Boilie in the Island Pegs in the shallows. Coarse Lake Lots of good bags of Bream are coming out to Pellet and maggot, especially on pegs 9,10, and 11, and 22, 23 and 24 on the north bank. For a full report see my website. Tight Lines Bernie

Fishing Report 11th April 2016 TROUT LAKE There are really good hatches of buzzers emerging, giving anglers plenty of activity. Dry fly nymph and buzzer tatics are working. The Trout Masters 'Fish Off' took place on last Saturday with Mark Poole from Cresswell, winning the pegged match on the North Bank and Dam. He caught 12 fish Brian Simmonds with 10 fish catching 7 . Third was Mark Seery from Hucknall with 6 trout. For a full report including flies used see the 'Hows it Fishing' on my website. www.pressmanorfishinglakes. A number of anglers are catching with dries especially size 14 and 16 Black Shipman's and Klinkhammers which are imitating the flies that are emerging. My tip is to fish the water down wind, in the rippled water, rather than a flat calm. Certainly the best area for bank fishermen this week, is The Dam. The best areas are pegs 7 through to 25 , i.e. the deeper end of the lake. s seem to be maggots of various colours, using float tactics. CARP LAKE The lake is warming up with a few fish showing in the shallows. Two day ticket anglers yesterday didn't have any success however one of the regulars caught a 10.5 Mirror in an 'afterwork' session 5 pm. COARSE LAKE The Coarse has been fishing really well for Bream and Roach. The best baits seem to be maggots of various colours, using float tatics. The best areas are pegs 7 through to 25 , i.e the deeper end of the lake. The carp angling has been slow due to the cold water temperatures. The odd fish is coming out and if I had to pick a peg it would be peg 15 off the Dam. The water temperatures is 10 degrees now( and warming increasing) and this will bring the fish on the feed. Remember night sessions must be booked in advance. Tight Lines
Fishing Report 22nd March 2016 Trout Lake Good catches especially those boat fishing, with a number of Bag limits. Ken Sweet's first fish weighed 6.5 pound. in a 12 bag session.Best flies are damsel nymphs and black buzzers under a dry or indicator. Some really small black buzzer emerging , you will need a small 18 f fly to catch them. Carp Lake Rob ,carp lake member ,catching Carp on maggots close in at present. Lake warming up and fish starting to show in the shallows. Coarse lake A few carp are being caught in the car park end of he lake, pegs 6 through to 25, Absolutely loads of Roach and Bream being caught on maggot. Perch especially the big ones are a little elusive at present. All lakes open 7 days a week now. Tight Lines Bernie
Fishing Report 16th March 2016 WE ARE OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK NOW. Trout Lake Anglers catching on Buzzers and nymphs under a dry or indicator. The trout want the flies fished slowly. Best areas are in the lodge end of the lake and despite the cold northerly Steve Lowe caught on the far bank on the silver birch pitch. Carp Lake Joe Sheriff caught by Carp by the Dam, but fishing is still challenging.Pop Up Boilies worth a try on 1 rod. Coarse Lake The report on my website said it was difficult fishing on the Coarse lake. However a twenty pound plus bag of Bream off peg 6, using worm and maggot. Night fishing for carp is the best method of catching at present. Over the weekend an angler had 9 carp over-night, and nothing in the day.I will up date, when I get more information. (The angler caught his 9 carp bivvied up on the dam, fishing near the top floating reed bed). Bring on the warmer weather. Bernie

Fishing Report Friday 26th February 2016 TROUT LAKE- Anglers are catching on Black and Green flies such as Montana, Viva and Green Fritz and Montana’s. Egg Flies, under an indicator are catching good bags, and anglers who move frequently are having best success. Best areas, are the ,’boat peg’ in the shallows and the dam. Boats are catching near the reeds in the shallows. A reminder from 6th March we will be open 7 days a week. CARP LAKE Challenging due to the frosty weather with low water temperatures. To give yourself the best chance fish a savoury ‘Pop Up’ Boilie by the dam or by the sunken Islands in the shallows. Note from 6th March we will be open 7 days a week. COARSE LAKE Really good bags of Roach are coming off pegs 6 and 7 on ‘Pinkie’ and ‘Red Maggot’. Keith Palmer and Mick Bolsover from Sheffield had over 25lb of Roach using float and fishing ‘Pinkie’ off pegs 6 and 7 this week. The odd Perch is coming but again Carp proving elusive due to the cold conditions. Tight Lines Bernie
Press Manor Trout Lake and Carp open weekends until 7th March when we go back to seven days a week. Coarse lake is currently open 7 days a week. Fishing on the Trout lake has been challenging over the weekend with boats doing best, especially in the shallow end.All anglers having to work hard for their fish. Six anglers from Foremark Fly fishers fishing club paid Press Manor a visit last week – Most caught 2 trout each in the cold conditions. Best flies and tactics are Black and Green Flies like Viva’s and Montana’s. Or those fishing a buzzer/ nymphs under an indicator. The Carp lake has produced a few fish, however Carp fishing became difficult again in the cold snap. Joe Sherrif still putting some hours in. The Coarse lake is still producing Roach and Bream which are plentiful on Red maggot. There are a few Perch being caught to 2 lb, with worm and small prawns. The bigger Perch over 3 lb are still being elusive. Carp on the Coarse lake are being caught especially in the mild weather. Peg 6 and 7 seem to be popular and producing. Tom Kitchen from Birdholme, Chesterfield caught this 10 lb Common on Pop Boilie- He missed 5 fish in a row- Tight Lines Bernie

Well done. A great day with 9 anglers, and the rain laid off to allow great conditions for Jim Tuck's qualifier at Press Manor today! Well done to Alec Urquhart who caught 11 fish, John Hall second with 7 fish and Mark Stenson third with 6 fish. Press Manor's photo. Like · Reply · Just now
