Alcester Minster Churches
Description
Come celebrate the unity of the eight Minster Churches of Alcester, Arrow, Weethley, Great Alne, Kinwarton, Haselor, Coughton and Sambourne.
What is Alcester Minster?
It is a way of grouping together five Church of England parishes, comprising eight churches in and around Alcester with a single Ministry Team and a commitment to work together. Many of our activities are therefore Minster-wide, designed for all who attend the churches and all who live in the parishes. Some activities are specific to a particular parish.
The parishes are:
Alcester (St Nicholas)
Arrow and Weethley (Holy Trinity and St James)
Coughton and Sambourne (St Peter and Sambourne)
Haselor (St Mary and All Saints)
Kinwarton and Great Alne (St Mary the Virgin and St Mary Magdalen)
Welcome
Welcome to Alcester Minster website. I hope it will answer your questions and give you a flavour of what we believe and do. I am passionate about the difference faith in Jesus Christ can make in our lives, and behind all we do is a desire to celebrate and communicate that.
If you are looking for a church, please be assured of a warm welcome at the churches of the Minster.
Thank you for your website visit,
Adrian
Minster Leadership Teams
Alcester Minster is led by Minster Council and the Ministry Leadership Team (MLT). Minster Council co-ordinates the combined activities of the Minster and MLT oversees the spiritual direction. Minster Council comprises the Churchwardens of each of the Minster's five parishes plus two Lay Readers and the Rector, and the Ministry Leadership Team comprises Clergy (Adrian Guthrie, Sue Henwood and Julian Davey) and Lay Readers (Daphne Cook, Gill Laughlin, Julie Lindsay, Pat Newbold and John Berry). As well as the MLT, other lay and ordained people, are involved in conducting services. Minster Council meets six times a year and MLT meets monthly, both of which are chaired by Adrian.
Each parish of the Minster has a Parochial Church Council (PCC) that is responsible for parish-based activities.
