What a week the last week has been. We finally opened last Saturday and managed to have everything in place thanks to some heroic suppliers and some very hard working staff. The sign writers arrived in the snow on Friday as did Mitchells with our fruit and veg order and Thomsons with the other items we needed. Thank you to everyone that has been in to see us this week and thanks for all of the positive comments that we have received.

Breakfasts are go at the Smithy from the 3rd March. When we open on Saturday it will be from the new time of 9 am with a breakfast selection menu from 9 until 11:30 including these award winning free range soft boiled eggs from Glenkens eggs.

Just realised we now have 400 page likes. Many thanks to all of you for the likes and follows. Please say hello if you come in to the Smithy, it's always nice to put a real person to the online names.

Many thanks to David and Marion for their best wishes for the future. Having been customers for many years we would also like to thank them for their hospitality and great food over the time that they have been at the Smithy. Myself and Margaret have lived part time in the beautiful village of New Galloway for 14 years and have now moved here permanently to the Smithy. We both have a passion for food which is fresh, vibrant and where possible sourced from the fantastic local suppliers that we have in the area. We are very much looking forward to seeing you once The Smithy reopens on the 3rd of March. Andrew and Margaret

The lovely Russel Grant was in for lunch today, full of fun and really enjoyed his lunch.
