A cat from Bedford, England has been found in Hamilton, Lanarkshire! Without the cat being microchipped and the owner keeping details up to date there would have been no way to get this cat back home. Never assume your cat will be okay without a microchip - any cat can go missing at any point and they could travel anywhere within a very short period of time. We recommend that ALL cats, dogs and rabbits are microchipped (even indoor cats/rabbits). Microchipping can be performed in a 10 minute appointment with one of our nurses. It is very straight forward and will help increase the chances of your pet being returned to you, should they ever go missing. Please call us on 01236 756595 if you would like to arrange an appointment or if you have any questions regarding microchipping 🙂

We are very grateful for everyones suggestions on the charity thread, but we would kindly ask that only new suggestions are now added, as there are currently over 100 comments and the majority are for the same few charities, and we would like to assess each one fairly, and to ensure that none are accidently missed. Thank you in advance.

As many of you will know, we do several charity collections a year, to help pets who are not as fortunate as our own. In the past we have helped the SSPCA, Dogs Trust, Cat Concern, Trusty Paws and the Airdrie foodbank amongst others. We have begun to collect for our next collection, and would like to know if anyone would like to nominate a local charity who could benefit from food, beds, toys etc. Put your nominations below and we will look into them all, thank you.

A reminder that lillies are extremely poisonous for cats, even if they brush against them and then ingest some of the pollen when grooming themselves, this could be enough to cause kidney damage and could be fatal. If you are buying flowers for mothers day and she has a cat, we'd advise buying flowers without lillies to stay safe.
