Self taught artist from Switzerland painting highly detailed fine art oil paintings. His art is telling stories, about life, people, hopes, dreams  Hi! My name is Maik. I am a self taught artist from Switzerland. My life followed a normal path, a happy and protected childhood, an amazing career in an international hotel company and a loving relationship with my girlfriend. An ordinary life with its ups and downs until January 07th, 2014 – everything changed! – rien de va plus – burn out.
For at least half a year I was unable to manage life on my own. Only with the support of my girlfriend I managed to overcome this difficult time. This also was the moment I started painting. Never before did I hold a pencil or brush in my hand but it was exactly what helped my to start concentrating and believing in myself again.
Slowly life, confidence and motivation returned — light at the end of the tunnel. Even though it was and still is a bumpy road with lots of obstacles to overcome but with the love of my girlfriend, the support of the ones closest to me and the help of my mentor (Noah Elias of Noah Fine Art) and my role model (Walter Elias Disney) my life has a purpose and a goal again. More than ever I am living and following my dream. I have a vision.

Someone once ask me what kind of pictures I am painting. I said “I don’t know”.
I am inspired by songs, films, my daily surroundings, my life. It is like a sequence of a movie with sounds, themes and dialogues is playing in my head. The challenge is to grab all those elements and form it into one, to still have the emotions, the feelings, the music bundled together in one final painting. Maybe thats the reason why I could not give her an answer. Because every story is different. Some paintings are part of a series, a sequel or just a blockbuster on its own.

For me it is not just a paining it is a story with music, hope, laughter, love, hate, rage, silence…
an experience for more than just one of our senses.

Every little stroke and every little detail is part of the the big picture to finally have high definition oil painting that pulls you into its world.
