To protect rights and improve living conditions of children, who live in difficult conditions, the Child and Family Strengthening Project had run many activities, which had focused on supporting and strengthening their families. The project involved people below the poverty line and single mothers into wool trainings, which made a tremendous contribution to improve their living condition. In 2002, the project initiated small loans to support home-producers. Six producers began working as a team, while accepting product loans of essential equipment and raw materials. Now, their products are made with high quality, traditional, natural, and raw materials within Mongolia, and designed by using traditional handicraft techniques. Modern Nomad is working with 6 cooperatives, beside them there are over 20 other home-producers who sell their products and receive orders through the cooperatives. In this interview, Ms.Bujin, Initiator and director of the first cooperative “Wool Golden Chance” is citing that the vital energy of Mongolian wool is special. And felt making in Mongolia is identified with a rich culture of traditions, rituals, working cooperation and a wealth of design.
