Kids Animal Bowls Workshop

One of our favorite workshops! In this fun 60 minute workshop for parents and children 4 & up, we will make animal bowls from pinch pots. Children will make a bowl from a pinch pot and then add legs, a head and tail to create an animal of their choosing. While the kids are making animals, parents will be able to also make a pinch pot for themselves (either of an animal or a set of nesting bowls). After the workshop, the bowls will be bisque fired and glazed in a color of your choice. They will be ready for pick up about three weeks after the workshop. The registration price of 60chf is for 1 parent and 1 child. Because this is a shared professional art studio, parents must remain with their children throughout the duration of the workshop. Girls Night Out - Silk Screened and Illustrated Vases

This 2 hour Girls Night Out workshop will explore different surface decoration techniques including silk screening and image transfer. During the hands-on session, each participant will have the opportunity to create a tall cylindrical vase. The handmade pieces will be bisque fired prior to the class and ready for decoration and glaze. To create the surface of the piece, we will use a combination of laser transfers and clay carbon paper to set a pattern and then illustrate over the patterns with ink-like underglaze pens. Participants can also use silk screens and underglazes to create images and patterns in a variety of colors. This is the process that TRö uses to create all of our pottery. These are fun and surprisingly simple techniques with lovely results. The ability to draw is absolutely not required. While lots of inspiration and all of the materials will be provided, if you have drawings or patterns that you would like to use, please feel free to bring them. Wine and snacks will be provided. After the workshop, Meghan will glaze and fire each piece in a glossy clear. The vases will be ready to pick up about three weeks after the workshop. My students convinced me to try throwing blindfolded in class this morning. (We've all been watching too much great pottery throw down) Here's me (being super articulate) throwing a bowl. Lots of fun!!!
