ISU Senior Officer Ms Sophie Delfolie updates the States Parties on the work of the ISU and the support it provides to Convention members. The 2018 Pledging Conference was chaired by Embassy and Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the UN Office in Geneva and H.E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah.
Special Envoy and 8MSP President HRH Prince Mired of Jordan and HE Suraya Dalil, Ambassador of Afghanistan to Switzerland and President of the #17MSP met in Geneva and discussed -- among other things -- approaches to promote the Convention among States that have not yet joined the Convention.

The Pledging Conference seeks to commit resources for implementation including through pledges of financial support to the ISU 2018 work plan and budget, the Convention's Sponsorship Programme, to mine action programmes and projects internationally, and also emphasizes the importance of ensuring costs for the Meetings of the States Parties.
