Let’s explore the great Salève and the nature that surrounds Geneva! This event is open to ALL Institute students! [What to expect] We will lead a group up Le Salève via L'Orjobet and la Corraterie. The paths on Salève are classified as T2 hikes, meaning the paths are constantly there, but can be steep and and there is a potential danger of falling. [What to do] We will hike up to the top, stay for half an hour for a light picnic while enjoying the view, and then take the cable car on our way down. The hike up will probably take 3-4 hours with a group. [What to wear] Everyone should have proper shoes (hiking boots will be the best, but solid running shoes are ok too!). However, sandals, flip flops, or converse could lead to disaster. [What to bring] Everyone will need a TPG ticket and some euros or francs for the cable car down (around 10 euros). A liter of water is strongly recommended. You may want to bring a snack and some drink for chilling on top. Another tip is to bring a jacket with you because it will be cold on the summit. Bring ID as we are crossing into France (though you probably won’t need it). Hiking is a rewarding and pleasant activity in nature, but there are dangers. By signing up for this event, you agree to hold harmless the hike organizer, assistant organizers, and other participants for any injuries sustained during this hike. You acknowledge that we are not professionals. You assume responsibility for yourself and your safety.

Let’s cruise one of Geneva’s busiest thoroughfares for an amazing night of bar hopping, starting at the legendary bar “L’Éléphant dans la Cannette.” Then we make our way to the classic Café du Lys, cross the road to the mysterious Le Kraken, and wrap up the night in the loungy Le Bout de la Rue.
