Kizomba & Semba d'Angola in Bern
A warm welcome to the casa do artista!
CASA DO ARTISTA aims to bring Kizomba and Semba music, dance and culture from Angola to Berne in Switzerland. Every Monday and Thursday night, you may join us for dance classes at the Alte Feuerwehr (Breitsch) or in the VIDMARhallen in Liebefeld, Berne. The lessons are taught by Cazuza & Nicoletta.
CAZUZA is an artist and professional dancer of Angolan origin. Since more than twenty years he is member of the Traditional Angolan Ballet “Kilandukilu” with which he as travelled all over the world.
In 2012 he founded the association Kizomba Doce in Strasbourg with the objective to bring the Angolan dances and culture to this city. Now we have the chance to have him as well in the capital of Switzerland.
Thanks to his longstanding experience as an artist, his professionalism and his energy, he is a much appreciated guest teacher of Kizomba, Semba, Afro House, Kuduro and Funana at international festivals throughout Europe, such as the AfricAdançar in Lisbonne, the Batuke in London, the Afromoves in Stuttgart and the Kizomba Swimming Festival in Paris to name just a few.
NICOLETTA is a Swiss with Italian blood flowing through her venes, and with her heart lying in Africa. She has lived and traveled to many different countries in Africa and was always fascinated by the people, the music and the dancing. After having done some standard and latin dances, Kizomba and Semba are now the perfect fusion of her big passions for dancing and for the African continent.
Nicoletta is fluent in German, French and English and working on her Protuguese by watching telenovelas. She even knows a few words in Arabic. One her favorite saying is "in challah", which can be translated to "oxala" in Portugese or "go with the flow" in Yogi language. She has a talent in bringing people together and organising events.
