Last up from this weekend is Aidens "Truck and Bus" themed third birthday cake. I rarely get to make boy cakes, and having 2 sons myself I really do enjoy making them. In chocolate mud cake and hazelnut mousse.

I love babyshowers they represent new life! This chic Chanel themed baby shower cake was just too adorable. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE the colour purple, and this weekend I was lucky enough to create 2 beautiful cakes in shades of purple. Purple,silver with a pop of green for a special 60th Birthday today. In carrot cake and vanilla creamcheese frosting

Congratulations to Kelly and Alistair on their big day yesterday. I was asked to create this 3 tier vintage beauty in lilac and grey. I loved making the purple sugar roses,so different from the usual hues of pink. I unfortunately didn't get a great picture of the cake before it left, so fingers crossed I get a beautiful professional photo!

I've been asked about my new '2 orders a week' policy for 2018 to most it may seem very strange. Here are my reasons behind it: 1) HEALTH- in 2016 and 2017 my health took a serious toll, I was run down but I persevered through it all many times to my own detriment. 2) MY FAMILY LIFE-it suffered badly,as a baker/cake decorator we work long hours and often late nights to perfect our product. This leaves little time for our families. (added to this my poor health-meant not being a happy mom,and as a result not happy children) So in an effort to improve both these very important facets I have made this decision. 3) THE WATER CRISIS- The baking/hospitality industry is a water sensitive industry, I use water both in recipes and for cleaning (there is A LOT of cleaning). And in an effort to save save save this policy will stay in place until this crisis is under control. So please be understanding when I cannot accommodate due to being fully booked. So together let us, work and pray for rain and new hope in the Western Cape! Toni x

Ivy and the 3 bears! Gorgeous little Ivy turned 1 yesterday and I loved making this pretty pink cake for her. Her mom who is one of my oldest friends (since we were about 6 or 7 years old) chose marbled cake,vanilla buttercream and caramel.

This weekends orders were a mix of sugar and spice. From the Little Mermaid, the 3 bears and Hulk. First up is a cake I thoroughly enjoyed making. Taylors Little Mermaid Cake in chocolate mud cake and whipped ganache bottom tier caramel and vanilla buttercream, The gorgeous sea creature cookies by Melanie (Pretty Cake Crush), and Clam macarons by Armand (Decadence By Design).

After having worked almost everyday straight for the last 6 weeks, I can finally down tools and enjoy 10 (hopefully peaceful) days of leave. Until the 25th of January when I start on my first wedding cake for 2018. All February and March Invoices will be sent out within the next 2-3 days. I will not be doing other admin while on leave ie- New order requests. February is now fully booked! Many thanks Toni
