No matter who you are, what you do or where you go there will always be others who try to break you down - whether openly or subtly. Don't take it personally. What they say and do are not a reflection on your shortcomings or 'failures' but on their own insecurities. It's easier to blow out your flame than it is to light their own.
The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.
If it's important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.
