Yesterday we visited the largest Dutch ICT company in #Serbia- Levi9 Serbia . The company is established in 2006 and it operates in #Novi Sad, #Zrenjanin and soon it's gonna start in #Belgrade as well, employing over 350 people at the moment. Levi9 is a responsible company with strong commitment to improvement of educational condition locally - by now they have supported the Technical University of Novi Sad with a donation of approximately 200.000€, while at the same time providing scholarships for the best students of the Computer Science department. Dutch ICT companies at the moment employ above 700 people in Serbia and significantly contribute to Serbian software exports.

Now the European Water Polo Championships 2016 have come to a close the Dutch teams can look back on a succesful tournament and a great stay in Belgrade. The Dutch Women's Team grabbed a silver medal, only losing to Hungary in the final match. To mark this special occassion, representatives of several water polo federations participating in the tournament were invited last week to attend a reception with Ambassador Van den Dool at the Dutch residence.
#EU2016NL: A joint approach to migration
On Monday the Justice and Home Affairs Council (JHA) met in #Amsterdam to discuss possible solutions to the refugee and migration crises. As the President of the Council of the European Union, the Netherlands advocates joint European action to reduce the influx of refugees, to improve return policies, and to combat human smuggling. On Friday Ambassador Henk van den Dool presented the action plan of the Netherlands' current EU Presidency to the Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic. The Ambassador conveyed that migration and security are one of the four key priorities during the Dutch Presidency, and expressed the European support for aiding Serbia in handling the current influx of refugees. The Ambassador congratulated Serbia with the opening of Chapters 32 and 35, and reiterated his hope that the cooperation between Serbia and its EU-partners might lead to the opening of more chapters in 2016. #EUNL2016
