The company shareholders have complementary experiences, both in agriculture and management, being credible business persons in their industries. JOB OFFER & REQUIREMENTS The experienced Board Members of the company are looking for an ambitious, experienced and results driven General Manager to organize and lead the operational team to fulfill its goals over the coming years. The production is currently located near Comporta, Portugal. The General Manager will be responsible to oversee all the production planning and implementation, technical assistance and support to farmers, and commercial relationships of the company. A production manager and an assistant will report to the General Manager. Title: General Manager Location: Comporta/Odemira (with frequent travelling abroad) Responsible to: Board of Directors (weekly reporting) Responsible for: All operational staff of the company Responsibility: Work program approved by the Board of Directors Candidate requirements: • Ethical and responsible behavior • Drive, determination and strong initiative • High level of attention to detail • Strong execution and delivery capabilities • Organizational & planning skills, including project & people management experience • Communication skills • Process knowledge / Process improvement / Problem solving ability • Finance, numeracy and computer know-how • Commercial and marketing knowledge  Autonomy within the established framework and report requirements • Minimum of 5 years of relevant agriculture and management experience • Preference for an agro engineer with management experience, or management degree with experience in the agriculture sector • Proven track record of managing operations in a commercial farm setting • Preference for candidates with experience in: o Sweet potato or other root crops o Greenhouse management o Crop production management (planting, harvesting, nutrients, amongst other) o Project / People / Change management o Farm management software o Sales WHAT THE COMPANY OFFERS 1.
