The Norwegian Coast Guard vessel KV Svalbard became the first Norwegian ship to reach the North Pole this week. Satellite imagery from Kongsberg Satellite Services was used as decision support to find the best route through the ice.
Making data from ships accessible

The talented summer students at KONGSBERG are this summer working together within different summer projects, towards different goals. The students are now more than halfway through the projects, and the groups have worked hard and purposefully throughout with their tasks. We are looking forward to seeing their results and achievements at the end of the summer!

KSAT wins strategically important contract with NASA - KONGSBERG
Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) has been chosen by NASA to deliver ground station services for NASAs new satellites. The agreement requires KSAT to expand its "Pole to Pole" network with high frequency Ka-band on Svalbard and in Punta Arenas. KSAT Cheif Excecutive Officer, Rolf Skattebo says that this important agreement shows that our technology is world leading in the industry and that this will help NASA to transmit information faster and more reliably!
