Description
This is a residential rehabilitation centre for girls and young women between the ages of 13 – 35 who have been victims of trafficking & sexual abuse. This is a residential rehabilitation centre for girls and young women between the ages of 13 – 35 who have been victims of human trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation. We give them the opportunity to regain their self-esteem and dignity, and empower them to return to society as productive, self-sufficient individuals. The reality is that some girls are as young as 9 and forced to have sex with up to 10 men a day. Genesis House provides adult literacy education and the opportunity for younger girls to receive formal education at partner schools. Vocational skills training and empowerment programs as well as counselling and psychotherapy are integral to our work here. The program lasts up to 18 months per client and over 250 young women have graduated from Genesis House.
