Automaten Centrale
Description
Automaten Centrale is al meer dan 45 jaar actief in de automatenbranche. We beschikken dan ook over de nodige deskundigheid en ervaring. Automaten Centrale Noord-Oost (AC) was founded in 1965 by Mr. H. Seijger. Automaten Centrale started as a service organization, repairing and restoring cigarette and automat vending machines. Several years after its founding, Automaten Centrale started to import new cigarette vending machines and in 1976 they became the official importer of Wurlitzer in the Netherlands. At that time the company also began selling the first Wurlitzer glass-front vending machine, however the cigarette vending machines remained the company’s main business.
In 1985 Servex, a subsidiary company of the Dutch Railway Company (NS), bought the first glass-front vending machines to be placed on railway stations. To prevent burglary the machines were placed inside a special reinforced cabinet.
Already in 1993 the company saw a decreasing demand of cigarette vending machines. Although the decrease was hardly noticeable, the company decided to switch the main business to glass-front vending machines. It turns out this was important decision; hardly no cigarette vending machine are sold by AC today.
In 1998 Eric Seijger and in 2000 Edwin Seijger acquire both fifty percent of the shares and hold onto the course set by their father. Though, the following years the brothers head for expansion of their company and widening of their market to be less dependent on only glass-front vending machines of Wurlitzer. Coffee machines were added to AC’s portfolio in 2006. In spite of the fact coffee machines are a rather different business than vending machines, because these machines need much more servicing and are mostly sold without payment systems, AC has managed to create a solid position in this branch. In 2012 AC became the official importer of Necta & Wittenborg vending & coffee machines for the Netherlands.
In June 2007 Automaten Centrale introduced their own vending machine to the Dutch market. In Europe the machine is sold as ACN, which refers to Automaten Centrale Nederland. From the beginning the company has a say in the production of the vending machines and several modifications were put through.
