New Volvo XC60 revealed in VR This morning people from all over the world were are able to join the live reveal of the new Volvo XC60 in Virtual Reality. In close collaboration with Mediatec & AKQA we created an immersive digital experience where you could discover the new Volvo XC60, broadcasted live in VR from the Geneva International Motor Show. The 360º camera was placed front row so you had the best seat in the house! Besides this we've embedded traditional videos and integrated card functionality to get additional information during and after the livestream. Finally we created 4 amazing drive along experiences at the official Volvo proofing ground in Sweden a couple of weeks ago. Volvo will keep you posted. For the VR professionals… We’ve used the Ozo camera and the brand new Ladybug 5+ camera for the VR livestreams and we recorded the whole show in 8K! This new Ladybug 5+ camera will be launched officially in the 2nd quarter of this year.

VR-IEND, yellowBird Labs DIY VR solution for the health market was on tour during the last ICT&Health Week 2017. This week is facilitated by the Dutch Ministery of VWS. We were invited to showcase and demonstrate VR-iend on several locations in the Netherlands! HAGA hospital invited us to demonstrate VR-iend & VR-Macy (our VR database with enriched VR content) during their innovation event. We were part of the ICT&Health experience in Utrecht to showcase VR-iendje. This was the biggest showcase event in the Netherlands during week. The international line up of keynotes, speakers and innovations were impressive. So we are very proud we were part of this event. VR-iendje was presented at kick off meeting of a new programm for dementia in Tilburg to see how VR could be a toolkit to help people with dementia and to increase their patient well being.

GREAT START OF 2017! We kick started this year with some amazing new projects! Indonesia, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and of course the Netherlands … will be on our travel schedule for the upcoming 6 weeks. Sports, Automotive & Retail are going to be the main topics. And it will be a combination of VR, Mixed reality and livestreaming! Keep you posted!

Once again a great yellowBird project! In close collaboration with WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen we created a very special VR Christmas card for hospitalised kids who have to stay in hospital during Christmas. We will create a VR livestream to give the hospitalised kids a guided VIP tour and we created a couple of recorded VR experiences. We will broadcast this unique VR experience to 10 hospitals in the Netherlands! This is also the official start of the partnership between WILDLANDS & yellowBird to create amazing VR content in the upcoming year!

SAMSUNG EN BRAND NEW LIVE WINNEN SPONSORRING 2016 Door middel van VR (virtual reality) liet Samsung de consument de Olympische Spelen afgelopen zomer op een vernieuwende en innovatieve manier beleven. Zowel op grote evenementen als de Olympic Experience en Delfsail, kon iedereen met een VR simulator zich Dorian van Rijsselberghe wanen. Met de Samsung Gear VR sta jij op de plank tijdens een training van Dorian. Je ziet precies wat zich op open zee afspeelt, in 360 graden en met details als windsnelheid en –richting. De Samsung Gear VR maakt het Olympische gevoel voor iedereen bereikbaar. yellowBird was verantwoordelijk voor het produceren van de 360º experience. Dit in nauwe samenwerking met het fanastische team van Brand New Live!

And we got invited by the Provence of Brabant to demonstrate VR-iendje during their "Liever Thuis" Cure Fair! Borgert Klok almost missed his daughters wedding. Due to a terrible accident and the huge risk of infection he was not allowed to leave the Burncenter in Groningen. But ... with our brandnew VR-iendje "do it yourself VR solution" he was able to attend the wedding Live in Virtual reality ...

YELLOWBIRD LANCEERT VR-IENDJE™ We hebben reeds in december 2015 de basis gelegde voor VR-iendje™. Onder de noemer Immersive Care hebben we een brandwonden patiënt een onvergetelijke kerst bezorgd. Middels een dubbele livestream hebben we een Roemeense familie virtueel herenigd. Dit was al een groot succes. Het afgelopen jaar hebben we daarom gebruikt om samen met professionele partners te experimenteren, te itereren en in co-creatie tot een nog betere toepassing te komen. Dit heeft geleid tot VR-iendje™ een oplossing die do it yourself VR mogelijk maakt. Innovatief aan deze oplossing is de manier waarop ouders en vrienden met een handzame gebruiksvriendelijke camera zelf virtual reality beelden kunnen vastleggen en kunnen livestreamen zonder tussenkomst van yellowBird. Het enorme gebruiksgemak, een minimale vertraging in streams en de mogelijkheid om beelden later terug te kunnen kijken zijn het grote verschil met eerder ontwikkelde methodes.

Q-MUSIC DJ's MATTIE & WIETZE BRENGEN MIKA EINDELIJK WEER THUIS MET VR-IENDJE™ Afgelopen week hebben Q-dj’s Mattie & Wietze alles in het werk gesteld om hun wens uit te laten komen: virtual reality voor alle kinderen in het Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis. Ze hebben daarom speciaal voor het WKZ hun eigen restaurant geopend. Alle opbrengsten hiervan gaan naar het WKZ. Afgelopen week gingen ze langs bij Mika, een 15-jarige jongen die plots verlamd raakte en op de intensive care belandde. Mattie en Wietze besloten hem samen met zijn ouders een grote verrassing te bezorgen. Mika kan al wekenlang niet echt ‘thuis’ zijn. Dankzij VR-iendje™ van yellowBird, een nieuwe live 360-graden virtual reality verbinding, kunnen zijn ouders, ondanks de beperkingen, op deze manier eindelijk wat voor hem betekenen. Martini Burn Center Groningen and yellowBird started their partnership. yellowBird created therefore three 30 minute immersive VR storylines which can be used in the GearVR. These VR stories will distract patients and burn victims during their painful treatments. We will include gaming elements and other interactive elements to make it really immersive. This is not a one off project but a scientific research program to see what the real impact will be. A team of researchers is being set up in close collaboration with the University of Groningen.
