Storytelling "war rug" from Afghanistan, circa 1982. After the Russians invaded Afghanistan early 80's, the locals made their rugs as usual, and depicted what they saw around them. Tanks, helikopters, rockets, mines.... This rug tells a story, not seen at first hand. Brought in by the son of an Afghan refugee who came to Western Europe in1986. He took with him 12 rugs, of which only one was a "war rug" This is an original, very early and very very rare example. € 875,00 and this piece is yours.
