Next up is our vice head education: Dagnery C. Pikerie Dagnery Pikerie, nice to meet you. I am a student from Curaçao and I’ve been living in the Netherlands for a year now. I am 19 years old, right now I’m in my first year of Health and Life. In September I’ll also start with the study programme medicine. I like to go shopping and work with dogs. Next to that I also of course really enjoy sleeping and watching Netflix! I’ll be the vice head education next year and also a member of the committee student representation. In the committee education I would like to guarantee the quality of the study programmes to make sure there is a smoot connection with the job market and master study programmes. As a member of study representation I’ll mainly be your voice and ensure you are happy. Do you think exams should be corrected differently, presentations should be available prior to the class, and that classes should be recorded? To me you come in first place! Dagnery Pikerie, aangenaam. Ik ben een student uit Curaçao en woon pas een jaartje in Nederland. Ik ben nu 19 jaar oud. Dit is mijn eerste studiejaar van de leuke studie, Gezondheid en Leven. In september ga ik daarnaast geneeskunde studeren. Mijn hobby’s zijn shoppen en maatschappelijk bezig zijn met honden (zwerfhonden helpen en onderhouden). Daarnaast vind ik slapen en netflixen natuurlijk ook heel leuk! In de FSR Bèta heb ik de functie van Vice Hoofd Onderwijs en ben ik tevens algemeen lid van de commissie studentenvertegenwoordiging. In de commissie Onderwijs wil ik me voornamelijk inzetten voor het garanderen van de kwaliteit van onze opleiding zodat onze afgestudeerden naadloos kunnen aansluiten op de eisen op de arbeidsmarkt dan wel voor het kunnen doorstromen naar een Master. Als lid studentenvertegenwoordiging ben ik vooral jouw stem en wil ik zorgen voor jouw tevredenheid. Moeten normeringen anders zijn, moeten de presentaties vooraf beschikbaar zijn, moeten colleges worden opgenomen? Voor mij sta jij op de eerste plaats.

Today we are going to introduce the vice head of student representatives: Gerwin Goelema My name is Gerwin Goelema, I am 23 years old and a second year student Earth and Economy. Next year I will be in the committees student representatives and PR. Ik ben Gerwin Goelema, 23 jaar oud en tweedejaars student Aarde en Economie. Volgend jaar ga ik mij binnen de FSR inzetten in de commissies studentenvertegenwoordiging en PR.

Today it is our next head of PR turn: Daan van der Weele My name is Daan. I am 20 years old. Currently, I am in the first year of the bachelor Information, Multimedia and Management. I am an active member of study association STORM. Next year, I will be the head of PR. I hope that during my year in the FSR, even more students will get to know about us, and know how to reach us with important matters. I am looking forward to my year in the FSR! Ik ben Daan. Ik ben 20 jaar oud. Ik ben op dit moment bezig met het eerste jaar van de bachelor Informatie, Multimedia en Management. Verder ben ik actief lid bij studievereniging STORM. Volgend jaar ben ik Hoofd PR binnen de FSR. Ik hoop ervoor te kunnen zorgen dat (nog) meer studenten weten wie wij zijn en hoe ze ons kunnen bereiken. Ik heb veel zin in mijn jaar in de FSR!

Next up is our head studentrepresentatives: Lydia Korndewal My name is Lydia, I am 22 years old and I’m a third year health sciences student. One year ago I was a board member at my study association, Salus. During that year I’ve learned a lot and met so many great people. When I saw the job offer for the FSR, I immediately got excited! Coming year, I’ll be the head of student representation and I’m very much looking forward to it! I really hope that I can mean something for my fellow students. I am most definitely going to try my best to make sure the opinion of the student will be taking into account with decision about the faculty! Ik ben Lydia, 22 en zit in het derde jaar van mijn bachelor Gezondheidswetenschappen. Een jaar geleden heb ik een bestuursjaar gedaan bij mijn studievereniging, Salus. Tijdens dit jaar heb ik ontzettend veel geleerd en hele leuke mensen ontmoet. Toen ik de vacature van de FSR zag, was ik direct enthousiast! Komend studiejaar zal ik de functie Hoofd studentenvertegenwoordiging vervullen, ik heb er superveel zin in! Ik hoop dat ik tijdens mijn jaar in de FSR veel voor mijn medestudenten kan betekenen. Ik zal zeker mijn best doen om te zorgen dat de mening van de student zo veel mogelijk wordt meegenomen in de beslissingen die voor de faculteit genomen worden!

Today we introduce to your our next Head Education: Merel Crezee! Hi everyone, My name is Merel Crezee, I am 20 years old, and enthusiastic almost second year student Medical Sciences and I’ll be your new head of Education in the faculty student council 2017-2018! I’ll strive to improve the VU as a university, but I will of course mainly focus on the science faculty. Moreover, you can often find me in the gym, where I like to do kickboxing and yoga. You can also meet me in clubs and salsa parties, because dancing is my passion. Above all I want to meet you at the VU, so that I know what is going on and make sure to represent what is needed. Do not hesitate to let your wishes be heard and see you next year! Today it's our head Facilities turn: Hester Dijkstra My name is Hester, master student Geology & Geochemistry. I wanted to be more involved with and know more about the ins and outs of our university. Which lead to me applying for the student council. I hope that I will succeed to fulfill my function to the fullest! Mijn naam is Hester, masterstudent Geology & Geochemistry. Ik wilde graag meer betrokken zijn bij het reilen en zeilen binnen de universiteit, en dit heeft er dan ook tot geleid dat ik mij aan heb gemeld voor de studentenraad. Ik hoop dat ik er dit jaar in slaag om mijn functie binnen de studentenraad goed te vervullen!

Today we will introduce our head collaboration: Emma Hi, my name is Emma, former student at the UvA, but from September I will be studying Artifical Intelligence at the VU. I am 25 years old and live in Amsterdam, my hobby is kickboxing, but next to that I'm very sweet haha. I will be head collaboration, where I will be focusing on the merger of the beta faculties and the possible collaboration with the UvA. Next to that I'm involved with IT and internationalisation. Furthermore, I'm very excited for next year! Hi ik ben Emma, voorheen student bij de Uva maar vanaf september master AI student aan de VU. Ik ben 25 en kom uit Amsterdam, m'n hobby is kickboxen maar verder ben ik heel lief. Ik word hoofd commissie samenwerking. Ik ga me richten op de fusie van de beta faculteiten en een mogelijke samenwerking met de UvA. Daarnaast ben ik betrokken bij IT en internationalisering. Ik heb vooral heel veel zin in het komende jaar!

Today it is our treasurers turn: Mustafa Mutlu Hi everyone, My name is Mustafa, already 23 years old and a third year Pharmaceutical Sciences student and currently already a member of the student council FEW. After being a member of the student council FEW for more than nine months I also wanted to mean something for all the students of the faculty of Science, which will be formed per the first of July. Next year, I would like to contribute my participation for the council and its name recognition. And hopefully reach the students better and make sure their voice is strengthened. Next to my study and the student council, I mainly like soccer, hanging out with friends, working as a private driver for various clients and I also often work at many festivals across the country. Hallo iedereen, Ik ben Mustafa, reeds 23 jaar oud, derdejaars student Farmaceutische Wetenschappen en ik ben lid van de facultaire studentenraad der Exacte Wetenschappen. Na iets meer dan negen maanden lid te zijn geweest van de Facultaire Studentenraad der Exacte Wetenschappen heb ik besloten om naast de bijdrage voor de studenten van mijn eigen faculteit ook wat te gaan betekenen voor de studenten van de Bètafaculteit. Hierdoor wil ik graag weer mijn steentje bijdragen voor de medezeggenschap en de naamsbekendheid, waardoor de achterban beter wordt bereikt en de stem van de student versterkt wordt. Naast mijn studie en de FSR houd ik me vooral bezig met voetbal, gezelligheid met vrienden, ben ik te werkzaam als privéchauffeur voor diverse klanten en sta ik bij veel festivals in heel het land.

I’m from Hoofddorp and that is also where I live. Next to studying I like to work and travel a lot. Do you want to know more? Come by next year :)! Hiii! Mijn naam is Sanjana Nabibaks, 3e jaars Business Analytics student. Aankomend schooljaar fungeer ik als Secretaris voor de FSR Bèta. Today we will introduce our next vice president: Rik de Wilde My name is Rik de Wilde and I’m a first year Science, Business & Innovation student. Coming year, I’ll become 20 years old and l’ll be the vice president of the FSR Bèta. Next to studying I am an active member at the study association Subliem and the soccer club Swift. I’m a citizen of Amsterdam in heart and soul, but I’ve come into contact with several cultures since I’ve been living part of my childhood abroad. My ambitions for next year for the FSR Bèta are improving the sustainability of the faculty and taking care of a smooth transition to the NU building. Mijn naam is Rik de Wilde en ik ben eerstejaars bachelorstudent Science, Business & Innovation. Komend studiejaar word ik 20 en ga ik de functie van Vice Voorzitter bekleden in de Bèta FSR. Buiten het studeren ben ik actief lid van de Studievereniging Subliem en de Amsterdamse Voetbalvereniging Swift. Verder ben ik een Amsterdammer in hart en nieren maar beschik ik ook over kennis van de rest van de wereld aangezien ik een aantal jaar in het buitenland ben geweest. Mijn ambities voor de FSR Bèta zijn een verduurzaming van de Faculteit en het zorgen voor een gemakkelijke transitie naar het NU gebouw.

From today one we will introduce every member from the FSR Bèta 2017/2018! We will start with the upcoming president, Susanna. Hi everyone, My name is Susanna, I’m 20 years old and third year student Medical Sciences. Next to my study I’m active at the study association Mens as a board member. During my time as a board member I found out that I really enjoyed being in a board, which made me want to broaden my horizon. Which is how I came in contact with the FSR. I think we, as VU-students, are very lucky to be listened to, and in my opinion we should use this and use our voice more often. I hope to increase awareness about the FSR and make sure that we listen to all the students. If we continue to do this, we can keep the education quality high, which is very important. Next to the FSR and the study association, I like to sport, mainly kickboxing and surfing. But I also really enjoy hanging out with friends, partying and music. I’m also working as a homework tutor and soon also as a Social Media talent. Vanaf vandaag zullen wij één voor één onze opvolgers van de FSR Bèta 17/18 voorstellen! We beginnen met de toekomstige voorzitter, Susanna. Hoi lieve mensen, Ik ben Susanna, inmiddels ben ik 20 jaar en derdejaars student Medische Natuurwetenschappen. Naast mijn studie ben ik actief bij de studievereniging Mens als bestuurslid. Hierbij kwam ik erachter dat ik in een bestuur zitten veel te leuk vind en dit naar een hoger niveau wil trekken. Dat was ook de manier hoe ik bij de FSR terecht ben gekomen. Ik denk dat we bij de VU als studenten een geluk hebben dat er goed naar ons geluisterd wordt en het is dan ook mijn mening dat we hier meer gebruik van moeten maken en ook daadwerkelijk meer onze stem moeten laten horen. Ik hoop vooral de naamsbekendheid van de FSR te kunnen vergroten en ervoor te zorgen dat we goed naar de studenten luisteren. Als we dat goed blijven doen kunnen we de kwaliteit van het onderwijs goed blijven waarborgen, wat natuurlijk erg belangrijk is. Naast de FSR en de studievereniging houd ik ook van sporten, met name kickboksen en surfen, maar ook heel erg van gezelligheid, feesten en muziek. Daarnaast ben ik nog werkzaam als huiswerkbegeleider/examentrainer en binnenkort ook als Social Media talent
