Description
Highly engineered graphene-based materials for everyday life applications Directa Plus was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in ComoNext Science Park.
Its team has an high level of competence and the Scientific Commitee gathers together qualified people with diversified experience in the field of international research. Moreover, Directa Plus constantly creates and develops a high value network of technological and academic institutions, specialized in different field of applications, which collaborate with the company in testing and certifying material’s quality: Polytechnic of Milan, Polytechnic of Turin, National Research Council (ISMAC), IIT (Italian Institute of Technology).
Targeting on existing markets (to date), the Directa Plus approach is based on a top-down production, characterized by low cost & high yield. The entire production process has been created and designed applying a “cradle to cradle” philosophy foreseeing zero footprint, zero waste and limited use of fossil energy”. This important aspect has allowed the company to obtain several awards.
In December 2013 Directa Plus was identified as a top 10 Cleantech SME in Italy by the Cleantech Group in collaboration with Italy Cleantech Network, the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land & Sea, the Italian Trade Agency and with participation from a panel of top Italian Cleantech investors and companies.
Directa Plus was also reported by Legambiente in the short list of “Innovation friend of the Environment 2013” for the use of graphene in rubber.
In June 2014 Directa Plus opened its new “Graphene Factory”, the largest European pristine graphene nanoplatelets production unit based on a patented and granted technology, and designed with a modular, repeatable and exportable logic in mind, with acontinuous output of 30 tonnes/year.
