Abacus Montessori School is a purpose built, privately owned Montessori School located in The Faythe, Wexford.  The school was first opened in September 2003 by Kathryn Goff (nee Kelly) with just one teacher and five children. Abacus Montessori School now has three fully qualified Montessori teachers, two classrooms and can cater for up to 30 Montessori children each day aged from 2 ½ to 5 years of age who are fully toilet trained.
Kathryn trained at St Nicholas Montessori College, Dun Laoghaire and graduated with a National Diploma in Humanities in Montessori education teaching children aged 2 ½  up to 12 years of age.  All teaching staff at Abacus Montessori are fully trained and qualified in Montessori teaching with FETAC LEVELS 5 and 6. And all have up to date first aid training
At Abacus we follow the Montessori method of education. Maria Montessori developed an extensive range of learning materials, which reflect the curriculum in Abacus Montessori School. The Montessori curriculum consists of five areas: Practical Life; Sensorial; Mathematics; Language and Culture. Materials have been designed for each of these areas.
Our goal is to provide a carefully planned, stimulating environment which will help your child develop an excellent foundation for creative learning. Circle time is an important part of our day. During this time the children learn new information about our theme of the week; we talk about the calendar, weather, sing songs and read a story.  

We have a purpose built outdoor area. The outdoor area is fully enclosed and equipped with child friendly age appropriate equipment.  We are currently taking part in the ECCE Scheme (Early Childhood Care and Education). Your child can avail of this Scheme the year before they start Primary School, 5 days per week, 9.00am – 12.00pm free.
Our opening hours are Monday ¬to Friday, 9.00am to 12.30pm, 38 weeks of the year. At Abacus Montessori School you can be assured that your child is taught by highly qualified friendly teachers.
