Over the past few months we here at Mooneys have been working with our friends at the ASK campaign to try to address and highlight the scourge within our community which is suicide. The ASK campaign is a very proactive initiative which urges us all to ask the question ”Are You Ok?” This question alone could be enough to save someones life, someone who would answer that question with No I’m not! One conversation could save a life and that power is in our hands every minute of every day! The ASK Campaign asks you to look into the lives of others and to try recognise the signs which lead people to taking the drastic steps of leaving this life and leaving their loved ones in complete devastation and bewilderment. These people need to know that we are all there for them both those who know and love them and those of us who may not know them at all. We all have to stand up and make ourselves known to those who are in dire need of our help. So we have sponsored and produced a keyring which is The ASK campaigns logo and is a very visible symbol for people to display to show others that they are here for them. This Keyring may just be the lifeline that somebody needs to say the words ‘I’m not ok! I need your help!’. In light of the tragic incidents in Wexford over the past few days and the tragic passing of our good friend and customer John Wadding Byrne, we will be giving out these key rings tonight and all we ask in return is a small donation of €2 which will help the ASK campaign to continue to create Mental Health Issues awareness. We ask everyone to support this hugely important campaign and to carry their Lifeline Symbol wherever they may go. May we take this opportunity to offer our condolences to Johns Family, friends and loved ones, to Gers family and wide circle of friends and indeed anyone who has been affected by tragic events such as these. Ar Dheis Dhe go raibh a anam.

A Sad day for wexford town. Rest in peace John Waddin-Byrne. A lovely young man who always had a smile on his face. Was lovely to have had him here in Mooney's over the last few years. Never a dull moment thats for sure 😊 Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.
