Eric Whitacre, a Grammy winning American composer, Conductor. he is also known for his "Virtual Choir" projects,bringing individual voices from around the globe together into an online choir. There are so many young people started to sing in the choir after seen him or heard his beautiful songs. Here, he talks about why singing is so important to us and why children should sing together

Westport Children's Choir's annual Christmas Concert on Saturday the 17th December at Westport Town Hall Theatre at 7:30pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to sample and celebrate the deepest, darkest winter season with a wide range of Christmas music. Puerto Rican, Ukrainian, Jazz, Mediaevel French, Irish and of course many beloved carols to be sung with the accompaniment of our special guests! Also we are delighted to announce the new Westport Youth Choir will be joining this concert in their first public appearance. Recording Sean Davey's 1916 Easter Rising commemoration piece " One Hundred Years a Nation " at The Helix in Dublin. Quite a fraught process with so many children, but we got a "clean take" in the end, with time to spare. Well done and thanks to the children who gave up their time and watching the match, and sang so well; we will have a great memento when the CD comes out.
