VS Sports Rehab
Description
Sports rehabilitation specializes in the preventative assessment and curative aspects of injuries within the physically active population. Sports Rehabilitation therapies are very different in comparison to Physiotherapy, Sports Massage etc.
A Sports Rehabilitation therapist has to partake in a four year full time intensive B.S.c (hon) degree course; they receive hands on training from the very beginning along with the theoretical aspects.
The first two years are heavily focused on the applied health sciences, fitness instruction and basic strength and conditioning practices. The last two years focuses on the soft tissue and rehabilitative aspects of musculoskeletal injuries, it is in these two years that sports rehabilitators are taught the more advanced aspects of strength and conditioning.
Such specialization provides sports rehabilitators with the knowledge on how to rehabilitate individuals in a fast and effective manner.
