Description
We offer a preschool, after school and out of school service. We are located in Tramore Co. Waterford We are a child centred, child focused centre using a holistic approach to develop the child in society for the good of the community. We offer a morning pre-school session, an after school service and an out of school (holiday) service from two and a half years (pre-school) to fourteen years (after-school/camps). A high-scope approach is used throughout the service provision and a range of therapeutic interventions are utilised depending on the needs of the client base.
Therapeutic interventions are used in a myriad of situations; the end goal of intervention programs is to inspire people to make the necessary changes to take control of their own lives again. Treating emotional disorders is one common use for a therapeutic intervention. The high-scope approach is one that works with children as active learners, not simply adults giving information to children rather children discovering things through direct experience with people, objects, events and ideas. We as high -scope practitioners are as active and involved as the children we work with in ways that both support and challenge what the children are experiencing and thinking. Therapeutic interventions and high-scope would not be commonly offered by childcare providers in Ireland.
