Just to let our parishioners know that you can pay your Community Text Alert System annual membership fee here at The Cottage. Fee €10 for 2018. This is a very valuable service in our Community helping to prevent crime.

We have scrumptiously delicious pancakes on the menu today, with fillings of your choice. You can have strawberries, blueberries, banana, lemon, chocolate, cream, or indeed a little bit of everything!!! Yum!!! Hard to resist!!

We are thrilled and delighted today to discover a beautiful review which has been written by John and Sally McKenna on our little shop and tearooms, for their very prestigious food guide. Starting off six years ago, this year, never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined the impact The Cottage has had and continues to have, on so many. It just goes to prove that with a little imagination and lots of passion, small rural places can indeed create something special for their communities and not only survive but thrive. Great celebrations at The Cottage yesterday!! All these lovely ladies from Thurles, Holycross, Clonoulty and Moycarkey were helping their friend Marian celebrate her 30th Birthday. It was woderful to hear such laughter, fun and banter in our tearooms !!! Happy Birthday Marian hope it was a memorable one for you.

Yesterday we said fairwell to one of our beloved customer's - Brother Patrick Hennessy - who was born in Whitefield, Loughmore in 1924. He served as a Christian Brother all his life mostly in Dublin, but he never forgot his roots and loved his native parish of Loughmore. He retired to Miguel House, Castletown, Co Laois, but arranged a visit to us here at The Cottage every year. He always loved to reminisce about days gone by and we loved listening to his many stories. This photo was taken during this summer with his nephew, John Hennessy. His eyes lit up when he saw John walk through our doors. Rest in Peace Brother Patrick.
