Richard Egan Furniture
Description
Based in the Comeragh Mountains close to Clonmel, we use solid, hard woods sourced in Ireland to manufacture timeless, classic or contemporary kitchens. A team with passion for excellent work
Richard Egan Bespoke Furniture proudly assures you that all of our kitchens are created with passion by our tight-knit team in Clonmel. We never claim to have made something that was not actually crafted in the workshop under the watchful eye of owner Richard Egan.
In business since 2002, the team comprises Richard (who started work in his first joinery in 1985), designer Adrienne Wall (since 2010), craftsman Patrick Hogan (since 2007) and newest craftsman Donal Maunsel (who joined in 2014). For granite and quartz worktops, the team is partnered with StoneWorld in Bagnalstown, Co Carlow.
Wood crafting is in Richard's blood – the joinery where he was schooled in the art of wood had been founded by his grandfather Micky Walsh and was, at that time, being run by his uncle. From day one, Richard took a conscious decision to produce the best work possible using only top-quality materials. Take a look at this short video for a flavour of what goes into creating a bespoke console table.
We care about the environment
We are very conscious about our impact on the environment, both locally and nationally. This is why we source all our wood from sustainable sources.
Additionally, we have embarked on a tree-planting programme to replace some of the wood we use. Each year, we plant approximately 100 native Irish trees – such as Oak, Elm, Ash, Beech and Chestnut – on the side of the Comeragh Mountains.
