The Big Duck's elf, Buddy, paid them a visit during the night and left them a letter. He also appears to have been helping wrap some presents last night and had left a bit of a mess behind! I wonder what he'll get up to next... ☺️

Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust

A little reminder to all parents that this week is Christmas Jumper week. Children can be festively dressed any or all days this week! We are doing this to raise funds for the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust, so please remember to donate to this very worthy cause. There are donation boxes in each room or you can give it to a staff member. You can find more information on our chosen charity on their website which is http://www.bonemarrowtrust.ie We can't wait to see all the Christmassy outfits or accessories! 🎄🎅🏻

The Big Ducks did some wonderful baking this week. Some delicious Christmas Tree Crunchy Cookies. They thoroughly enjoyed the whole process, especially icing them all themselves with the help of Sheila's beloved icing gun! 😋🎄

A very big thank you to all the parents who donated for the Barnardo's Christmas Toy Appeal. We have done this for a few years now and the response from you, the parents, is always overwhelmingly generous. Here are some photos during collection time, the final stack of presents was nearly double the size. Hopefully there will be a few brighter smiles from the children who receive your wonderful Christmas gifts.

Just because they're babies doesn't mean they can't get in on the painting action! It's fun to watch and help the tiny ones to enjoy painting. Plus, it's a wonderful sensory activity for them, too.

You may recall doing Papier Mache when you were in school - covering a balloon in newspaper that had been dipped in wallpaper paste with water, letting it dry and painting it before turning into a wonderful creation! These days we use a far more child friendly recipe for the Papier Mache paste. It now consists of flour, water and PVA glue. Still just as good a result and just as much mess!! Here's the Big Ducks in the midst of making their Paper Maché Christmas Puddings.
