Below are the relevant changes to you; USC rates are to be reduced as follows; 5.5% reduced to 5%; 3% reduced to 2.5%; and 1% reduced to 0.5%. Those on the minimum wage will not pay USC beyond the lowest rate. The Earned Income Tax Credit is to be increased by €400 to €950. Home Carer's Tax Credit is to be increased by €100 to €1,100. DIRT to be reduced by 2% per year for the next 4 years eventually being reduced to 33% by 2020. The Start Your Own Business Scheme to be extended for a further 2 years. Rent a room Relief increased by €2,000 to €14,000 per annum. Capital Acquisitions Tax threshold on inheritances from parents increased by €30,000 to €310,000. All weekly Social Welfare payments will increase by €5 per week from March. A Christmas Bonus of 85% will be paid to social welfare recipients in 2016. No changes to taxes on alcohol but cigarettes to increase by €0.50 per 20 pack of cigarettes.
