The C.O.R.E. is managed by a qualified Sports Rehabilitator and will focus primarily on injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation; performance enhancement through current training methods; biomechanical issues; the specific needs of exercise in children/teenagers, females, ageing population and those with permanent disabilities and chronic disease states.
Michael is the founder of the C.O.R.E. who returned to college as a mature student and attained a BSc (Hons) in Human Physiology & Rehabilitation in 2004. He subsequently became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association of America in 2008. He worked as a Sports Rehabilitator with the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Team from 2004-2008, and with the Wexford Senior Hurling Team from 2008-2011. Michael is recognized by the AAOS as an instructor for the Emergency Care & Safety Institute for AED, CPR & Sports First Aid, and A Healthcare Provider with the AHA & IHF. Michael is also a swimming coach since 2001.
Whether you are an elite athlete or amateur enthusiast, The C.O.R.E. is keen to develop links with local sports clubs with a view to maintaining and encouraging Performance Enhancement. Having worked for 14 years with clubs and 7 years with Kilkenny and Wexford; Professional on-field Physio cover for training / Match days is available.
The C.O.R.E. also provides Pre-Participation/ Prehab/Preseason/ Functional Screening which is now a recognised prerequisite at Inter-County/Club level. Please click the tab above for further information.
The C.O.R.E. also provides pre and in-season fitness testing for individuals and teams throughout the year.

If a return to exercise is a New Years resolution, then take heed ! Your risk of injury increases significantly upon resuming exercise after a prolonged period of time away from exercise. Please refer to my previous post re Pre-Participation Screening/ Functional Movement Screening.
