avail
Description
avail is a mobile education system that promotes learning and independence for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Children with special needs find it easier to understand daily activities and events using visuals.Creating understanding and providing a method of communication enables your child to be confident and independent in their daily lives, reducing anxiety and challenging behaviour.
From our work and research in the field we created avail for those children who require assistance in completing and understanding their world around them.
avail is an individualised, self-directed learning solution that fosters independence and confidence for children with special needs. avail utilizes principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) in providing step-by-step prompts of our daily tasks through our app.
It is currently being used to teach such skills as:
Hygiene,
Dressing,
Cooking,
Road safety,
Employment and independent living skills.
Also, parents are witnessing the benefits of creating simple social stories to create understanding that enables positive transitions, you can create your own or download a range of stories already created from our avail library.
"avail creates a visual world for your child, one that they understand, excel and be confident in"
(Lisa Marie Clinton, Founder avail)
