After the Dentist visiting the Hygienist is one of the important things you can do to keep your teeth and gums in a healthy state. Dara our Hygienist will advise you on the importance of diet for you and your familys' dental health, ie. reducing sugar intake and keeping treats to a minimum. Gum disease which can result in the loss of teeth can be held in check by good oral hygiene at home and regular visits to the Hygienist. Dara will also advise on oral hygiene while having orthodontic treatment, the last thing you want is decay or staining on your lovely straight teeth.

Knocking out teeth or breaking teeth is a hazard common enough for children. Knowing what to do in the situation is important for parents and carers. The poster "Save that Tooth" gives very clear instructions and can be saved to your phone or laptop. We are including some photos of children who presented in the surgery (with parents permission) who brought the fractured pieces and we were able to reattach successfully. The complete adult tooth can also be reinserted in the gum but time is of the essence, again follow the guidelines in the poster or call us on 01 8450541 for further advice. Please like and share with anyone in contact with children and their carers or schools. Just remember if you can ALWAYS BRING THE PIECES.
