Great fun setting up the wormery at a school near Cork city. The children all got their hands nicely dirty and learned all about worms and composting. The wormery will provide an ongoing source of nature education as well as helping the school to manage its organic waste and generate great compost. Funniest comment of the day was when I told them that each worm is both male and female, and one of the boys wondered how that could be done without plastic surgery...
