It was a pleasure to have a group so interested in our university and we hope they enjoyed the day, and of course the home coming for our victorious Fitzgibbon cup Hurling team! This Thursday’s lunchtime concert at 1.15pm in the College chapel, the third concert in the Department of Music’s spring series, features Eve Stafford and Ellen Hickey (sopranos) with Peter Barley (piano). They will perform a programme that includes works by Gluck, Mozart, Schumann, Bizet, and Offenbach. Admission to the concert, as to all in the series, is free. Note also that Mass in the chapel will be celebrated at the earlier time of 12.45pm on Thursday.

What we do

Would you like to learn coding and become a ‘DoJo’, CoderDojo Mentor? A Coder Dojo Mentor Information Session is being organised next Wednesday, 8th February in the Mary Immaculate College at 6:30pm in T314. The CoderDojo movement is now a very popular and huge initiative right across the world. CoderDojo clubs involve children developing basic programming and web development skills. For further information please click on the link to their website: https://coderdojo.com/ In education circles, there had been increased emphasis on Coding and it will not be too long before coding becomes part of everyday primary, second and third level education. If you would like to learn about Coder Dojo and possibly like to take part in a few sessions learning how to code. Then you may possibly like to become a mentor to school children for a few sessions from 6:30pm-8pm on Wednesdays throughout the semester.
