Kilmallock, Further Education and Training Centre – Amber Flag. Kilmallock, Further Education and Training Centre has been awarded the Amber Flag in recognition of the initiatives undertaken in the centre in 2016 and 2017 to promote and actively bring about a culture change in the promotion of positive mental health. The flag is flown on buildings to show that people there, are open to talking about mental health. The ceremony took place on May 25th in Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork where former Munster rugby player, Alan Quinlan, presented the flag to a number of schools, colleges and organisations on behalf of Suicide Aware. Alan spoke about his own struggles with maintaining positive mental health and said that “seeking help is a sign of strength - not weakness”.
