ParentStop
Description
ParentStop is a free and confidential support service that is here to listen, advise and help, as and when you need it. ParentStop is here to support parents who would like to discuss any concerns or challenges – to offer a listening ear and support them in planning for and finding a solution. This is a free and confidential support for parents who can meet with one of our parent support team. We will listen while parents talk it out, provide information on specific parenting concerns and advise on the next steps to facing that challenge. Parents make an appointment to talk to one of our Parent Support Officers - an initial 1 hour appointment is set with the parent/s to talk about their challenge being faced.
Parents need support at different points in their lives whether that is with baby and routine, pre-school behavioural issues, supporting special needs, teen communications, young adult behavioural conflicts etc. Parents and families face many challenges throughout including marriage difficulties, substance abuse, domestic violence, financial pressures, communication breakdown, etc.
ParentStop is seeing more and more cases each year and a more diverse range of challenges are presenting. The numbers using the service has increased and this is largely due to the work done in the past (word of mouth) and offering alternative outreach locations.
