Congratulations to Department of Business students, Aisling Bonner Year 4 BBus Hons Management and Melanie Doherty and Chloe Johnston Year 1 BBus Hons Accounting who have been selected to attend the I-Step Training Week in Birmingham in January 2018. This entrepreneurship programme allows students to internationalise a start-up company or create a new company in an international context. During the training week, students will be trained on the subject of international entrepreneurship with students putting the learned lessons directly into practise. http://i-step.eu/

The Department of Business Studies at LYIT is currently accepting applications for its part-time Executive MSc in Leadership and Innovation in the Public Service starting in January 2018. This proven leadership programme is targeted at Senior Managers in the public sector supporting them in their role as innovators and change champions. The MSc is jointly delivered with Ulster University and is the only North-South programme of its kind. The programme was originally developed by LYIT and Ulster University in collaboration with the Office of An Taoiseach and the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister and facilitates public service managers in delivering innovation and transformational change. An integral part of the programme is action learning within the candidate’s own workplace. This approach enhances the use of specialist knowledge in practice and recognises the reciprocal relationship between management theory and professional practice. The programme creates an environment in which participants can engage in knowledge development based on their work context. Good4U, a leading healthy snack brand are recruiting part-time Brand Ambassadors all over Ireland. They are seeking honest, confident and reliable people who will represent the brand with the highest integrity. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, friendly, well presented and up for a challenge. Excellent communication skills are essential and you must have the ability to work on your own initiative. Having a car is advantageous but not essential. Job Description (1-2 days per week): - Visit stores on behalf of Good4U - Develop relationships with the store manager and relevant personnel in store - Ensure availability of products in store as per planogram or listed range and report non compliance - Review customer promotional strategies and feedback to Manager - Ensure products are merchandised appropriately with correct SEL’s displayed. - Inform department managers of upcoming promotions, PR and other events - Identify barriers to sales and report accordingly - Assist in the execution of new product launches into stores. Letterkenny IT will be closed tomorrow, Monday October 16th in line with the following statement from the Department of Education and Skills: All Schools and Colleges Closed Tomorrow, Monday 16 October. In response to the imminent Storm Ophelia, the Department of Education and Skills is now publicly informing all schools, colleges and other education institutions that they are to remain closed tomorrow, Monday 16 October. This decision has been made following discussions with members of the Government Task Force on Emergency Planning and in light of the advice from Met Éireann on this unprecedented storm. All schools and colleges will be closed tomorrow.
