Brilliant atmosphere this morning at Womens Weightlifting in Fit4Life Health & Fitness Club. Today was genuinley one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever thought. Great group atmosphere which has been building slowly, nobody judging anybody else just hard work and some laughs. No competition, just Women working in groups to push each other on. Beginners and advanced all working together without any hassle or competitive element. The chats were had but some serious work was still done, 65/70kg squats, 70/80kg deadlifts were just some of the lifts achieved. Others had never done a squat before were doing some good solid reps by the end of it too. All done without any pressure and in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Strength training is an excellent way to build confidence and self esteem through moving some heavy shit off the ground!! Using weight training is an excellent tool for improving not only your physical health but also your mental health. Take your accomplishments into your everyday life. Thursdays class has only 2 spaces left so be sure to book on the app

Few more pictures from the Real Movement course with Keegan Smith. Thoroughly enjoyable and tonnes of new learning and ideas to take home. Great guy with great aspirations and ideas and a pleasure to be a part of the course with him. Hope to test these again in a few months and hope to see an improvement. Mobility is a real test of one's strength throughout a range of motion and without a good range of motion you are limiting the strength levels you could possibly achieve. Phone or email if your interested in training, programs or a chat on where you want to go.

Fit4Life Health & Fitness Club

I'll be teaching Womens weightlifting tomorrow (Saturday) morning in Fit4Life Health & Fitness Club at 9:30am. The focus for the day will be on squats, deadlifts, rows, bench and standing press. The aim is to perfect technique in the big compund (many muscle groups at once) lifts, and build strength through these valuable exercises. Whether you have never lifted a weight in your life, or if you already have a good level of strength this class will help educate you on planning, nutrition and how your body adapts to different weights and intensities. You won't get big and bulky from lifting weights which is a common misconception among women, you will only get big from eating in excess. Book in on the 'Fit4Life' app to ensure your place

Post spin meal - Porridge, flaxseed & Glenisk strained Greek style yogurt, blueberries & green tea. - Keeping the carbs & calories high with strength & soccer yesterday, Spin, weights & aerobics tonight. - Weight gain/loss is like a see-saw. If you take in less food than you burn off you will lose weight. If you eat more than you burn you will gain weight. - Genetics, age, gender, muscle mass, digestive health will all impact on weight loss/ gain. It's a big puzzle that needs work in unison to monitor your weight and won't be fixed with only one element under control. - Put health and well being before your weight. We all know a man or woman who eats nothing of real value and eats sweets and still looks good. From the inside how's their health? - It's more of an obsession with Women than Men but it changing day by day and can effect Men and when you eat well you will FEEL well 👍
