I’m sitting here close to tears as photos of the aftermath of the last few days come to light. Our fellow nursery growers in the hardest hit east of the country whose livelihoods have been decimated are now facing into a massive cleanup operation. I’m pretty sure the insurance companies with have excuses not to pay as was our case in the storm of ‘98 when we were almost wiped out completely. The government is inept and provide little or no help to the nursery stock industry so I urge you all to support Irish family businesses. I’m heartbroken seeing the pics of 4 acres of glasshouse at O Connors Nurseries in Wexford on the ground, also pics of Tullys Nurseries in Dublin. I can’t even begin to imagine how they are getting through this.
