Another completed compost heap! There is a mixture of manure, straw, leaves, tops of weeds and old vegetables plants. The 2nd picture shows it with its ‘skin on’ and we will wait 6 to 9 months for this ‘waste’ to be reborn. Then it will be super food for the life in the soil who do all the hard work to give us nutrient dense food😀👍

Last Saturday, Michael, Stephen & myself planted 140 Raspberry Canes! 70 are summer fruiting and 70 are autumn. If you have some time do watch this. I’m more excited then ever as I’m getting even a great understanding of these tiny life forms in the soil doing massive things. Bacteria and fungi are my hero’s. In a handful of earth there is more organisms then there is people on the planet. Not visible with the naked eye but if we work with them, they allow us to have healthy nutritious food, help lock carbon in the soil and allow are planet to restore balance.
On the 10th of February we took part in a nation wide tree planting. 'Trees on the land' is a project that has been going for several years promoting more tree planting in the country. We planted about 300 trees on the land with the help of the Family!
