'Fox' swamps his rivals in style
A great day yesterday at Galway where Swamp Fox won the Connacht Hotel (QR) Handicap. By Windsor Knot he is out of Brogella (King´s Theatre) and was bred by John McEnery and Michael Hanrahan. The Racing Post had some good things to day about the run: 'SWAMP FOX proved a terrific credit to trainer Joe Murphy in winning this big prize on his third outing of the month and only a week after opening his Flat account in a maiden at Ballinrobe. The fifth four-year-old to win the event since 2000, he has been a model of consistency as a dual-purpose performer, having now finished in the first three in 12 consecutive outings since last July. He was beaten only a neck off 12lb lower in a 1m4f handicap at last season´s festival and was a maiden hurdle winner on heavy ground at Thurles during the winter.' Rossenarra in the news again with the birth of the first foal by Rathasker Stud's Es Que Love. John McEnery described the him as 'a nice, healthy foal with great size and substance.' Born for Pat and Karen Doyle, the colt is out of the Gr.2 Premio Sergio Cumani winner Welsh Diva (Selkirk), already the dam of the dual Listed Jebel Ali Sprint runner-up Fityaan. Welsh Diva is a full-sister to the Gr.2 Prix du Rond-Point winner and sire Trans Island, and is also a half-sister to the Gr.3 Meld Stakes-placed Creekside (Dubai Destination).

The Rossenarra-bred Heeraat is fastest winner of the Hackwood Stakes since 2000 (faster than INVINCIBLE SPIRIT and 5 other Group 1 winners of the race). He's now standing at Mickley Stud in the UK and his first foal has just been born. Many thanks to EBN for the mention.
