Big Thaw After the snow comes the flooding two of natures disasters within a week of each other. As public transport slowly creeps to a full resumption of service our transporting of nurses, doctors and others drop off as normality slowly starts to return. We are back with a full service for the Hospitals, medical centres, hospices and other HSE establishments we provide our free service to but, our 4x4 vehicle will remain in full service for the present time as some outline areas still have snow and flooding, our calls today included Naas Hospital, Crumlin Childrens Hospital, our local Hospice and Biomnis. #Teamwork #4x4 #Medicaltransport #Hospitalservice
Snow lock down As the snow took hold of the capital some vehicles left stranded due to their lack of capability to move anywhere, 4x4 was the only way to get to inaccessible places not even the ambulance could get too, we were busy ferrying nurses, doctors sick and vulnerable people around this is not the routine of blood bikes, but in times of crises like this everyone needs to pull together just like we did. It goes to shows the level of commitment from all emergency service including the voluntary sector, we must also acknowledge the fantastic work the 4x4Response-Irl group did some of the guys coming down as far away as Northern Ireland and Donegal to help in this crisis it was all hands on deck. #workingtogether #snowcrisis #gettingthingsmoving
Red Alert With a red alert in full swing empty roads, people sitting beside the fire all cosy, even the HSE Ireland own medical transport service were not available. Blood Bikes are a voluntary medical transport service who supply a free service to the hospitals, today our 4 x 4 vehicle was out making sure the hospital calls were completed for Naas Hospital, Tallaght Hospital, Biomnis, and the National Virus lab. Blood Bikes will continue to offer our services to the hospitals, even during the red alert as we are part of an essential medical transport service. #Medicaltransport #essentialservice #safetyfirst #4x4rule

We are expecting more bad weather over the next few days. If you see our vehicles on the road, can we ask that you let us past? We could be carrying anything from Human Donor Milk, Blood, Tissue Samples or a range of Urgent Scans that could make a huge difference to someone’s life. Help us share and get the word out. Thank you ❤️☃️
Zero Degrees. With temperatures set to plummet over the next few days we are gearing ourselves up, both our 4 wheel vehicles will be on the road making sure the hospital's we service continue to get items collected or delivered safely and at no cost. Today we completed calls for Naas Hospital, Crumlin Childrens Hospital and Tallaght Hospital, we would also like to thank HSF for their very generous donation which will enable us to put a third 4 wheel vehicle into service in the coming months. #Essentialservice #medicaltransport #freeservice
