Kilcoole railway station (Stáisiún Chill Chomghaill) is a railway station in Kilcoole, County Wicklow, Ireland. The station serves the village of the same name and the town of Newtownmountkennedy. The station has 1 platform.HistoryThe station was opened on 30 October 1855 by the Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford Railway as Kilcoole & Newtownmountkennedy. The station was closed in 1964 due to a lack of resources or use. It reopened on 2 November 1980 with the first train being the 05:30 train from Dublin Connolly stopping on its way to Wicklow. The train guard was a railway man called Mick O' Grady who was later to become the Station Manager of Dublin Pearse in 2008 until 2012.Services/RoutesThe station is one of the least served on the whole Irish Rail network, with only a handful of trains a day.
