The demands in sport have increased tremendously over the years. Most amateur teams are now training at a professional standard. Midlands CryoSpa & MTC aims to offer a professional service to assist athletes. At Midlands CryoSpa & MTC I have a CET Cryospa or ice bath. The unit is designed for amatuer and professionals sports people in the treatment and prevention of injuries, it can reach temperatures as low as 1 degrees Celsius. This combined with the use of over forty jets that can be alternated to target specific injuries (e.g. Hamstring, quads and ankles) and the uses of Epsom salts helps flush out waste products such as lactic acid much quicker, increases circulation and reduces the effects of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). The results of this are quicker recovery times from injury, better injury prevention, greater sleep and ultimately better performances. The bath can hold up to three men or women at any given time therefore team rates can be offered. Midlands CryoSpa & Muscle Therapy Clinic  also offers other services such as

THE DREADED DOMS What are DOMS?? The pain and stiffness felt in your muscles 24-72 hours after you have worked out is known as the DOMS or Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. it’s The pain that makes it hard to walk up a flight of stairs or even sit down DOMS don’t mean you’ve done a good or bad workout they just indicate you have done something different to a muscle group to help it develop or grow. It can happen to a beginner starting a new training program or to someone who trains on a regular basis but has just maybe changed the intensity or training load. It is caused by muscle tissue lengthening during exercise and small micro tears (microtruma) to the muscle fibers. It is a symptom of exercise induced muscle damage. It’s completely normal and should always subside after 72 hours… When it doesn’t subside after that length of time you should be curious of injury to a muscle. HOW to reduce the DOMS effect?? 1. Keep Moving.. Go for a walk, swim or cycle or even go to the gym again. A good warm up and stretch should get your blood flowing. 2. Drink lots of water! This will help flush out toxins in our body. 3. Icing the area for 10 mins at a time. This will help reduce any inflammation. (Cryotherapy) 4. Recovery boots, to help reduce muscle fatigue 5. Sports massage. This will help improve Range of Movement & promote healing. ⭐️⭐️The recovery package⭐️⭐️
