A huge thank you to Gemma Lynch and Donal Mc Cabe from the Order of Malta and Meath County Councillor Wayne Forde for visiting St.Ciarans today. We made a big step forward in pursuing our projects goal which is to get basic First Aid taught to all secondary school students in Ireland. 🇮🇪 Gemma and Donal taught 28 first years basic CPR and emergency First Aid i.e. maintaining airway, assessing breathing and chest compressions. And our students now feel much more confident and prepared if they had to face an emergency situation. All students received a certificate in first aid and CPR awareness after a fun and informative morning. Hopefully this is the start of something big!!! 😀

A special thanks to Meath County Councillor Wayne Forde for visiting our YSI Transition Year class in St.Ciarans C.S today. His talk on First Aid was very informative and interesting and he gave us lots of very useful advices on developing our project further. Our project aims to raise awareness and inform everyone about the importance of First Aid. And our plan is to get every junior cycle student in Ireland qualified in First Aid.
